11 Books That Will Keep Your Attention Until The Very Last Page (P II)

The first list of “15 Books That Will Keep Your Attention Until The Very Last Page” went viral and we got requests to do even more of these book recommendations so we are back with another one, most of which were your recommendations from your comments

1. BEFORE I GO TO SLEEP by S. J. Watson
This book is a catch. Captivating mystery novels like this one will keep you tense till the last chapter. ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ tells the story of a woman who suffers from amnesia and wakes up every day with no memory from the past. She doesn’t know who she is, where she’s staying or whom she’s laying next to. However, she has a little secret journal whose words trouble her every time she reads them. “Don’t trust Ben” and suddenly she’s onto a lot of things that she has no idea about. This book will make you wonder: who are you without your memories and are you truly yourself once nothing reminds you of who you are. You must read it. Read More

2. THE GIRL YOU LEFT BEHIND by Jojo Moyes
Jojo Moyes has always been one of my highly recommended writers. After reading, ‘Me Before You’ I fell in love with the writer and had to revisit her work once more. And so I discovered This book. It might not be as good as ‘Me Before You’ but to be fair it’s almost impossible to compete with that one. This book tells the story of a 100 years old painting and the agony of love and loss behind the portrait of a gorgeous young woman in the midst of world war I. Read More

3. THE GOLDFINCH by Donna Tartt
Let’s face it, this book is thick. So, if you’re intimidated by big books then you might want to take a step back. However, you must consider what you’ll be missing. The Goldfinch is an amazing book that recounts the story of a young boy who survives a terrible accident that cost him the life of his mother and stigmatized him for the rest of his. Nevertheless, the ending is so miraculous it’ll make you fall in love with this book. Read More

4. THE PARIS WIFE by Paula McLain
This is an amazing read as it unfolds the story of Hadley Richardson and her secret affair with Ernest Hemingway in classical Paris. The author chose to narrate the novel through the eyes of Hadley after she discovered Hemingway’s Memoir. In the last few lines, Hemingway said, “I wish I had died before I loved anyone but her” A charming and breath taking love tale that allows you to peek on the secret life of Hemingway. Must Read!! I am reading this book at the moment and it is so relatable to anyone who’s discovering the realm of parenthood and its abysses. Through a collection of remarkable essays by the pen of Glennon Doyle Melton, you will find joy, agony, sadness, ecstasy and all kinds of emotions one after the other. Her work is authentic and bald as it will make you reflect on your own beautiful mess with an eye of acceptance and peace. Read More

6. YES MY DARLING DAUGHTER by Margaret Leroy
Breathtaking. This novel tells the amazing story of a single mother who struggles to keep up with her sick daughter. Sylvie, the daughter, begins to show unexplained outbursts and reactions as she begins to share details on what sounds like previous life experiences. The mother, not knowing how to handle the situation, contacts a professor in the paranormal department and asks him for help. But only to end in a disturbing murder mystery. It is remarkable.  Read More

7. THE GLASS CASTLE: A MEMOIR by Jeannette Walls
I should have read this book a while ago as it has completely blown my mind. I can’t believe I was going to forget to include it in this list so here it is. This work is a priceless depiction of the authors’ twisted family and her own insane experiences as she grew up. However, regardless of the alcohol and the trauma, this memoir still reveals a story of unconditional family love. Must check it out! Read More

8. BIG LITTLE LIES by Liane Moriarty
I am simply fascinated by Liane Moriarty. ‘What Alice Forgot’ was my first lead to discover this amazing writer and now I rediscovered her through ‘Big Little Lies’. The journey of unfolding the tale of all these lies will never be forgotten. More so, some people would argue that this book beats her previous best sellers and I have to agree. This books reveals so many secrets that only you can decode. Must read! Read More

9. THE LIGHT BETWEEN OCEANS by M.L. Stedman
This novel is an account of a husband, and his adventurous wife, who is suddenly assigned to take charge of a light house in a distant island in Australia. The man and his wife tried on and on to have a child that will relief their solitude but in vain. One day a disoriented boat brings in a dead body holding a baby in its arms. The husband wants to immediately report the incident but the wife insists that the child is a gift from god and that they should take care of it. When back on main land, they are faced with a multitude of spiky choices, trying to work around the devastation it has cast onto the others. This book will make you question so many things and rephrase what is moral and what isn’t in a world that doesn’t always abide by the rules. Read More

I tried my best to avoid the movie starring Reese Witherspoon because I was afraid it was going to blow the book for me and boy was I right. This is the story of a wild woman who decides to go on a journey of a thousand miles on the pacific crest trail on her own. This book truly got me hooked on every line as the heroine revealed more details about who she is with every life changing step she took towards the unknown. This experience will shape your understanding of life as a whole. Must read! Read More

11. THE ROSIE PROJECTThe lead character in this novel might just be one of my favourite fictional characters ever. The protagonist is a quirky professor of genetics who never manages to do the right thing even though that’s all he wants to do. Hence why, he decides that he needs to find himself a wife. So, he tries to do that the best way he knows: through scientific research methods, surveys and academic interviews to filter out the chosen specimen. Rosie has no chance at first but as their friendship begins to blossom, Don figures out that sometimes you don’t have to look for love because in most cases, loves finds you. A very intense yet funny book. Must check it out!!! Read More
